SAO Ep. 7 "Warmth of Heart" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Hello and welcome to the review of Episode 7, "Warmth of Heart", of Sword Art Online!

Now, just so you know, this episode is another side story with another girl falling in love with Kirito -.- Just saying. Also, Kirito gets new clothes, which he wears for the rest of the time while in Aincrad. If you look up a picture of him, he is most likely wearing this.

It begins with Asuna visiting her friend, Lisbeth (or "Liz"), a blacksmith of Aincrad. Lisbeth guesses that Asuna got herself a boyfriend or has a crush on someone (which is totally true) because she had new earrings.
The next day, Kirito comes to her smith shop requesting her to make a sword that is better or at the same level of the sword he already had, the Elucidator. She gives him the best sword she had ever made, and while testing it out, Kirito accidentally breaks it.

"Whoops..."

Enraged for breaking her best work, Lisbeth tells Kirito that she could make a good sword with the right materials. She tells him to come with her to collect a legendary metal, said to be formed inside the stomach of a dragon who ate crystals.
The two travel up a mountain to the dragon. Kirito tells Liz to hide behind some crystals while he fights. Halfway through the fight, however, Lisbeth comes out from hiding, thinking that Kirito has won. The dragon blows her away, and Kirito grabs her to protect her from the impact. They both fall into a deep hole where they can't teleport out of. Kirito tries to run up the walls to escape, but falls and ends up making a hole with an impression of himself.

...Fail.

The two end up spending the night in the hole. Liz asks Kirito to hold her hand, and there is a cute moment :3

Awww.....I don't really support Liz and Kirito (as a couple), but this is still pretty cute :3

When Liz wakes up, Kirito is digging a hole. He says he found the metal they were searching for, called the Crystalline Ingot, and hands it to Liz. He tells her that others never found it, even after killing the dragon, because the hole they were in was actually the dragon's nest and the ingot is actually the dragon's...poop. The two, knowing that the dragon is nocturnal, then find that the dragon would return to sleep in the morning. Right after they figure this out though...the dragon returns.

Aww...crap. We're screwed.

Kirito grabs Liz and jumps onto the dragon's back, stabbing it with his sword. The dragon carries the two up in the air, and Kirito and Lisbeth free fall down. While falling, Liz confesses to Kirito, but Kirito didn't hear her because of the wind.

There's supposed to be a beautiful sunrise behind them, but
I couldn't find any good pictures. I guess that means that you're
just going to have to watch the episode yourself
if you want to see it ... :P

The two make go back to Lisbeth's smith shop. She successfully makes a sword that Kirito likes with the ingot, called "Dark Repulser". Kirito tries to pay her for the sword, but she refuses saying that instead she wants him to make her his exclusive blacksmith. Then, Asuna rushes in saying she was worried about Liz when she couldn't find/call her. Later, Asuna notices that Kirito was there too.
Liz discovers that the person Asuna likes is Kirito and is immediately heartbroken. She tells her "good luck" with a smile on her face to be a good friend, but soon leaves the shop to cry. The episode ends with Kirito finding Liz and the two make up and become friends.

I think that this was another good episode. There is a lot of character development (Liz goes from hating Kirito to falling in love with him), and the main character seemed to be Liz instead of Kirito this time. There are a bunch of cute and funny moments :3
Well, Liz becomes a fairly important character later in the light novel/volumes. I'm not too sure about the anime, because I don't know how long it is. I forgot to mention, but Silica becomes fairly important too.

There was one thing that I was confused about in this episode though. In Lisbeth's Smith Shop, there's a picture of her with a couple other guys. she looks younger, but it has only been a bit after year since the game SAO became a death game. I still can't find out what that picture is about, but oh well! -.-

Anyways, I hoped you enjoyed this review!
I found an English version of the closing song of SAO, "Yume Sekai" or "Dream World". It's sung by Amanda Lee, who sung the English version of "Crossing Field" that I posted earlier. I also heard that this will be used when the dub Sword Art Online in English. ^^ Enjoy and Bye! :D
