SAO series Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Hello! Now, I'll be comparing my opinion on SAO to gigguk's opinion. ^.^
So watch the video if you haven't already! >.< (watch it until the very end!)

Well, first let me say that overall, I'd give Sword Art Online a 8 out of 10.
Wait, wait, wait!!!! >.< Let me explain!

Firstly, I have previously played MMO games. Although I did not seriously play a lot of them, I have played them before. Also, I read the Sword Art Online light novel. So, I know a bit more than those who just watch the anime. And lastly, I am a bit of a SAO fangirl :3

I definitely agree with gigguk that the art, action, and music, is absolutely SPECTACULAR in SAO. I mean, even someone like me, who doesn't review animes a lot can tell that the action was done really well unlike the end of the movie, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Although it was acted out by real actors and actresses, when Percy and Annabeth were sparring at the end, it looked completely unreal. Even nigahiga, D-trix, and Arden Cho (Youtubers ftw!!!! ^w^) in "Agents of Secret Stuff" did better than them! But then again, acting and animation are two very different things :\ . You can just tell.
However, there are things that I disagree with, though mainly because of me reading the light novel, being an MMO gamer, and not really evaluating and thinking about the anime while watching it (like what gigguk said).
Because of being a gamer, I feel like I am already satisfied with seeing Sword Art Online as an anime. It's pretty cool to see a "real" gaming environment, with all the floating windows and health bars and stuff. -.- The anime's art also great, making people, like me, want to be inside and play the game.

See!!??? Floating interactive windows!!!! How cool is that!!!!???? XD

About the characters: I feel like gigguk is right to say that the characters aren't fully developed...that is, the characters in the anime. As a reader of the light novels, I would say that my understanding of the characters is deeper than someone who just watches the anime. In the light novels, although the point of view is in the first person narrated by Kirito/Kazuto, sometimes, it will change to the limited point of view, allowing the readers to understand what another major character, for example Asuna or Suguha, is thinking. The light novel also has more arcs and events than the anime does. (For example, the Mother's Rosario Arc is mainly focused on Asuna as the protagonist/main character.) How a character reacts to specific events tell us, the readers, their traits. So, different point of views tell us different characters' thoughts and events reveal more characters as well as their traits, leading us to a better understanding of the characters of Sword Art Online.

This is the cover of Volume 7 of the SAO light novel. It's for the Mother's Rosario Arc
(Yuuukkkiiii!!!!!! NOOOOO!!!!!!! I'll love you forevah!!!!!!! D':)

About the seriousness: I feel like some of the characters were over-serious for really no reason, but others were seriously serious (what a confusing sentence T^T). In SAO, the serious ones would be the players at the front-lines. The others, who chose not to fight and to live their lives in SAO (kind of like the fisherman guy in Episode 13, remember him?) are the ones who are more laid-back. In ALO, pretty much everyone who is aiming to complete the Grand Quest and reach the top of the World Tree can be labeled as "serious", but there are exceptions. For example, that one Salamander that Kirito and Leafa spared in Episode 19 could be considered as non-serious because he accepted Kirito's bribe. The seriously serious people would probably be Kirito/Kazuto or Oberon/Sugou Nobuyuki. For Kirito, he's being serious because he wants to escape from SAO and save Asuna from ALO. For Oberon....he's just a horrible, disgusting, selfish fictional human being -_-.

:D

Again, the light novel explains a lot more than the anime does. For example, we learn more about Heathcliff/Kayaba Akihiko and why Kirito is so overpowered (it has to do with how the NerveGear and Amusphere (and later, the MediCuboid and Soul Translator) work, which the light novels go more in depth in).
Gigguk talked about how the creators disregarded in-game rules to advance the plot or make Kirito look badass (while showing the scene when Kirito used Kayaba's username, Heathcliff, so I am only assume that that's what he's talking about). But, I think that the only reason Kirito could do that is because of his willpower, a theme. Thus, this theme would be that human will can overcome the program.

And now, I would talk about the plot, but honestly, I don't really have much to talk about. :| I was one of the people who just enjoyed the Sword Art Online anime without thinking much....
So yeah, I'm skipping this section :P

That's all I have :)
I know that's it's not much because I started working on the first half of this and wasn't able to finish it until much, much later. (My train of thought was just cut in half, you know -__-)
I'm thinking of adding some posts about my other thoughts about SAO or to share stuff with you guys, but I can't promise anything yet!
Also, I may have only shown gigguk's review of SAO on this post, but don't forget that there are a lot of other anime reviewers out there! (Maybe I'll do other short posts using their videos too next time)

Bye! :D

SAO Ep. 25 "The World Seed" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Yes! :D We are on the final episode of the anime adaption of Sword Art Online, "The World Seed".

So, Kazuto is riding his bike towards the hospital to meet Asuna. However, just before entering the building, Sugou attacks and cuts him on the right arm. Sugou is seriously trying to kill Kazuto and would have succeeded in doing so if it weren't for his eye (affected from when it was slashed by Kirito in ALO in the last episode). When he tries to attack for a second time, Kazuto manages to smash Sugou's head against the side of a car and puts the knife against his neck. Sugou faints and he leaves to go to Asuna's hospital room. When he reaches her, they hug and kiss.

Kazuto and Asuna's reunion in reality.

Months later, in May of 2025, Kazuto and Asuna eat lunch together outside at school (it's the one opened by the government for SAO players who were students; mentioned previously in episode 21). Meanwhile Shinozaki Rika (Lisbeth) and Ayano Keiko (Silica) watch them angrily from a building (remember, they both had crushes on Kazuto).

From left to right: Agil (can't really see), Klein, Kazuto, and Thinker.

Then, Kazuto, Asuna, and Suguha go to the Dicey Cafe, owned by Andrew Gilbert Mills (Agil). They are surprised by a group of friends who are SAO players, who congratulate Kazuto on completing SAO.
At the party, Kazuto talks to Klein (Tsuboi Ryoutarou), Agil, and Thinker about the World Seed and VRMMORPGs while Suguha sits in a corner.

From left to right: Lisbeth, Silica, Yolko, Asuna, Sasha, Yulier

In ALO, Leafa tries to fly to the moon, but fails and begins to fall down. She is caught by Kirito and decides to teach him how to dance. She tells him about how she would never be able to catch up with the Kirito's other friends, who are SAO players, since she had never been to Aincrad before.

New Aincrad (I don't know why, but this reminds me of Chirstmas O.O)

Then, Kirito grabs Leafa and flies near the World Tree. He shows her the new Aincrad Castle, and asks her to help him finish all 100 floors, since all his stats had been reset. Kirito's other friends appear, and everyone flies up to new Aincrad.
The End.

Well, that's the end of the Sword Art Online anime! :D
Too bad it ended :'(
Here's two group pictures of the Sword Art Online characters. ^^

Eugene, Oberon, Recon, Sakuya, Alicia Rue, Klein, Leafa, Kirito, Asuna, Yui, Lisbeth, Silica & Pina, Sachi, Agil, Heathcliff, Thinker, Yulier, Argo
I like how Heathcliff has the peace sign >.<

Left to right: Sinon/Asada Shino (from the Gun Gale Online Arc in the light novels), Suguha,
Kazuto, Klein/Ryoutarou, Asuna, Lisbeth/Rika, Silica/Keiko, Agil/Andrew

I think that's it for now.
Although I'm done with reviewing/summarizing SAO, I think that I'll make more posts about SAO.
I'm definitely planning on making at least one more post comparing gigguk and my opinions about the series. But, I might also share some pictures that I found. Or explain my opinions on Heathcliff/Kayaba Akihiko or talk about Argo.
Anyways, I hope you'll watch the anime adaption of Sword Art Online and continue to read my posts ^^
Bye! :D

SAO Ep. 24 "Gilded Hero" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Yay! We're almost there ^^ This is the review of episode 24 of Sword Art Online, "Gilded Hero".

So, Yui has just teleported herself and Kirito through the door at the top of the dome. At this moment, Kirito realizes that the whole Grand Quest was a lie (because originally, the door could not be opened. The two eventually find Asuna in the birdcage and hug. :)

Aw...finally reunited. :3

Suddenly, Kirito senses someone and draws his sword. Yui tells them that something bad was coming and disappears, while Kirito and Asuna are forced onto the floor of the birdcage. At this time, the King Oberon (otherwise known as that bast*rd, Sugou Nobuyuki) appears, revealing the force affecting them to be a new type of "Gravity Magic". He creates a pair of chains and hangs Asuna from them. Then he uses Kirito's own swords and stabs him with him, lowering the Kirito's Pain Absorption level from 10 to 8, causing him to fell pain. He explains that if the level were to be lowered under 3, then it would start to affect Kirito's real body. (So basically, the lower in the level of the Pain Absorption, the more it hurts :\)
Sugou then proceeds to Asuna and starts to....strip her O.O....yeah...
Meanwhile, Kayaba Akihiko suddenly appears to Kirito telling him that Kirito had shown him that human will could overpower the system. Then, Kirito manages to stand up and, using Kayaba's system ID, Heathcliff, takes away Sugou's administrative privileges. Kirito summons Excalibur (strongest sword in the game), throws it to Sugou, sets the Pain Absorption level to 0, and challenges Oberon. They fight, and Kirito wins (duhh), killing Sugou's ALO character, Oberon.

This picture...is actually kind of scary... o.o

Kirito holds the "World Seed"

Kirito walks over to Asuna, apologizes, and logs her out. He calls out to Kayaba, who appears, and gives him the "World Seed", a program that could create a VRMMORPG (its actually pretty important in the later volumes of the light novel). Before disappearing, Kayaba tells Kirito that he could do whatever he wanted with it--sell it, put it on the internet for free, or destroy it. Then, Kirito calls out to Yui, who appears.
They hug and he logs out. In the real world Kazuto wakes up and tells Suguha that he was going to the hospital. He leaves on his bike while it is snowing.

Yay! Another great episode ^^
Oberon's dead (?) and Asuna has been saved :D
Happy ending, right?
...welll there's still another episode ;)
Here's some more fanart and awesome pictures:

"What if Kirito and Asuna swapped places....."

Another hilarious image by GreenTeaNeko :3

Haha...^^ LOL

And last but not least, is Gigguk's reaction video!!! He's absolutely hilarious!!!! XD
Again, he swears a bit :|

So, the next review/summary I do on Sword Art Online will be on the last episode of the anime adaption. However, I'm thinking of making one more post comparing my overall thoughts of SAO and gigguk's, since he has reviewed it and I've been putting up his reactions to two of the episodes.
But, that's all for now :) Bye! Join me next time! :D

SAO Ep. 23 "Bonds" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Now, I'm about to review "Bonds", episode 23 of the SAO anime. ^^

This episode begins with Kazuto asking Suguha to meet up in the north terrace of Aarun in ALO after arguing with each other. Suguha logs into the game and meets Recon, who escaped from the Salamanders. He confesses his love to Suguha, but is rejected with a punch.

Sorry Recon :(

Then, Leafa flies to the terrace where Kirito is waiting and they fight. In the last moment, both throw away their swords and hug in mid-air. Kirito tells Leafa about his thoughts, and she decides to continue to help him save Asuna.
Kirito, Leafa, and Recon, meet together at the base of the World Tree again and challenge the Grand Quest. It is decided that Kirito will use his speed to rush to the top of the tree while Leafa and Recon act as healing and support. However, the Guardian NPCs start to target Leafa and Recon. They fight back, and Recon eventually uses a strong self-destruct spell, killing both himself and a large number of NPCs.

*sigh* It's another one of those weird faces Kirito makes when fighting -_-

Then, Alicia Rue and Sakuya arrive with their Sylph and Cait Sith forces (they had finished their preparations using the money Kirito gave them). Meanwhile, Kirito and Leafa fight together, back-to-back. When they near the top of the dome, Leafa gives Kirito her katana and he forces his way through a group of NPCs. At this time, the Cait Siths and Sylphs retreat.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG

At the dome's top, Kirito is unable to open the door. Yui explains that the door was never meant to be opened, but using the administrator's card that Asuna gave them, they manage to teleport through it before NPC Guardians attacked them.

Well, this episode definitely had more fighting and action in it then the one before ^^
I'm so excited because Kirito will finally meet Asuna again! I just keep fangirling!!!! >.<
Here's another fanart drawn by GreenTeaNeko on Deviantart.com:
Haha! >.< Asuna and I have the same reactions ^^
And look at Sugou/Obreron! Was he eating ramen or something O.o

That's all for now :)
Join me next time! :D We have two more episodes to go! >.<

SAO Ep. 22 "Grand Quest" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Today, I'm reviewing episode 22 of Sword Art Online, "Grand Quest".

Last time, after arriving in Aarun, Yui told Kirito that Asuna seemed to be directly above them, and so he flew upwards. Leafa tries to follow him, telling him that it was impossible to fly up because there was a barrier where the clouds were (Previously, players had tried to reach the top of the World Tree by flying up.)
However, Kirito ignores her and rams into the barrier and Yui tries to call for Asuna. Up in the birdcage, Asuna hears Yui's calls and drops the card she had found in the Experiment room. Down below, Kirito catches the card, and Yui tells him that it was a System Admin access code, leading them to believe that Asuna had heard them and was waiting.

While watching, I found it kind of weird that the call wasn't really falling down, but floating. :\

Kirito thanks Leafa for helping him and heads to the base of the World Tree. When he arrives, the swords of two huge statues block the entrance, asking him if he was going to go in. A window pops up, and Kirito accepts the grand quest.

Entrance to the World Tree

He enters a huge dome, and flies up, killing armored NPC guardians that are in the way. Kirito is powered by the thought of Asuna, and continues to fly, ignoring the NPC's attacks. Eventually, his HP reaches zero before reaching the entrance to the World Tree and he becomes a Remain Light (I didn't know what they were called until now, but remain lights are the little fire things that players in ALO turn into after dying. They can be revived through magic by another player while in this stage, but after a certain time, they are resurrected and transported to their race's city)
While waiting for the time limit of the remain light, Leafa bursts into the dome and takes him back to the entrance. She revives Kirito, telling him not to rush in by himself. However, Kirito tells her that he couldn't and had to see Asuna again. At the mention of her name, Leafa realizes that Kirito was Kazuto. She calls Kirito "onii-chan" (means older brother in Japanese), causing Kirito to realize that Leafa was Suguha. Then, Leafa logs out in shock.
In the real world, Kazuto knocks on Suguha's door and tries to apologize for using the NerveGear again (he thought that she was mad at him for that). Suguha then opens the door and says that she was mad at Kazuto for being nice to her after returning from SAO and making her fall in love with Kazuto (and then Kirito). When Kazuto reminds Suguha that they were siblings, she reveals that she knew they were cousins. Kazuto tries to apologize, and Suguha slams the door shut. :(

Someone added a caption to this screenshot and I thought that it was funny :P

Episode 22 was just another episode of SAO that I felt wasn't really that important. All we really learn is that Kirito gets a weird card thingy and Leafa and Kirito know each others real identities.
Well...that's actually what I think now, after watching the whole series and reading the light novels O.O
So, you might think differently. (Yeah, I know I really suck at this reviewing thing -_-)

That's all for now. Hope you join me next time :D

SAO Ep. 21 "The Truth About ALfheim" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Hello! I'm about to review/summarize episode 21 of Sword Art Online, "The Truth About ALfheim" ^^

So, Kirito and Leafa finally reach Aarun and hear an announcement for players to log out because the servers were about to close. Then, Leafa leads Kirito and Yui to a cheap inn because Kirito ran out of money :P
Meanwhile, Asuna has made her way out of the bird cage, and arrives at some sort of tunnel (looks man-made, with white sliding doors which is strange, since ALO is a fantasy-based game)
In the real world, Kazuto is washing his face when Suguha arrives. She tells him that she had stayed up late on the internet. Kazuto tells her to turn around and dumps cold water down her back.
Asuna finds a map and looks for a place where she could log-out. A label that says "Experiment" catches her eye, and she remembers Sugou's evil plans (about the manipulation of human emotion, sense, and memory).
Kazuto and Suguha are making food. He tells her that he was going to see Asuna, and Suguha asks whether if she could come along. Kirito agrees.

Asuna enters the experiment room.

Asuna enters the rooms where the experiments are taking place. There are dozens of small pillars with holograms of brains displayed on them. She recognizes that the brains were suffering and promises to save every one of them. Suddenly, two slug monsters enter the room, forcing Asuna to hide.
On the bus, Kazuto and Suguha talk what school Kazuto would go to (because he didn't study during his two years in SAO). He tells her that the government was going to open a school for SAO players, but says that he thinks it is actually for observing the students.

Asuna discovers a black cube and manages to open up windows with a card she found. Just before logging out, she is caught by the two slugs/"scientists". Asuna manages to keep the card from the system console without them knowing before they take her back to the bird cage.
In the hospital room, Kazuto introduces Suguha and the sleeping Asuna to each other. Suguha starts to regret coming and questions her feelings toward her cousin.
Later, Kirito and Leafa log in to ALO, and Leafa cries saying that she was heartbroken. Kirito comforts her. The two go outside when Yui says that Asuna was directly above them. Kirito is surprised and starts to fly upwards.

....well....not really much to say here :\
Also, I didn't post that many pictures this time because I think that you should watch gigguk's reaction video to Episode 21 of SAO (below). I thought that it was absolutely hilarious and it's a thousand times better than this. >.<
Gigguk has also made a reaction video for Episode 24 as well as a review for Sword Art Online (like...a real one. It's nothing like what I do).  I'll shows those two videos later :) (I should also say that gigguk curses and stuff sometimes :\)

That's all for now! Enjoy and bye! :D

SAO Ep. 20 "General of the Blazing Flames" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Yay! We're on episode 20 of Sword Art Online, "General of the Blazing  Flames" now!!! :D (Although it's a bit sad that there are only five more episodes :( )

So, Kirito and Leafa jump out of the cave and fly into the air. They head towards the location where the Sylph and Cait Sith's leaders are meeting at, and on the way, Yui senses the 68 Salamander players ahead of them. Leafa gives up, saying that they would never make it on time, and tells Kirito to go to the World Tree, but Kirito rejects the idea.
Just before the Salamanders attack, Kirito lands in between their forces and the Sylph and Cait Siths telling them to stop. He bluffs, saying that he is the ambassador of the Spriggan-Undine alliance, who supported the Sylph and Cait Sith alliance. Meanwhile, Leafa tells the Cait Sith (Alicia Rue) and Sylph leaders (Sakuya), who are confused, that their lives were in the hands of Kirito. The leader of the group of Salamanders, General Eugene (brother of the Salamander's leader and said to be one of the strongest players in ALO) doesn't believe Kirito and challenges him to a duel. If Kirito could survive his attacks for 30 seconds, he would believe his story.

herp-a-derp :P

During the fight, General Eugene uses his sword, "Demonic Sword Gram" which can go through swords and shields. Kirito tells General Eugene that he had managed to survive for thirty seconds, but he says that he decided to change the rule to a deathmatch. Then, Kirito uses magic to summon a smoke curtain and borrows Leafa's katana. When the smoke clears, everyone but Leafa thinks that he ran away.
Then, Kirito attacks the General from above, blocking Eugene's sword with Leafa's katana in his left hand. He uses his experience in SAO's using two swords and wins against the General.

Kirito finishes General Eugene.
This picture is just a bit....uh...disturbing?
After staring at it for a while, I get really creeped out o.o

Kirito asks Sakuya to revive General Eugene, and he asks whether he believed him or not. He is reluctanat, when a Salamander behind him, Kagamune (the guy in episode 17 who left Leafa and Kirito alone after Kirito killed his allies who was also in the Lugru Corrider) says that it was Kirito and an Undine who wiped out their party in the Lugru Corrider (previous episode). Eugene then believes Kirito and leaves.
Leafa tells Sakuya about Sigurd's betrayal and Sakuya expels him from the Sylphs. Then, Sakuya and Alicia Rue thank Kirito, and he tells them that him being an ambassador was all a bluff. They flirt with him, trying to get him to join their own forces, but he rejects their offers, saying that he had to reach the Aarun. To help out with the Cait Sith and Slyph assault on the World Tree, Kirito donates a huge amount of Yurudo/money (all from SAO of course).
When the Cait Siths and Sylphs leave, and Yui pops out of Kirito and accuses him of cheating, saying that his heart beated faster when the leaders flirted with him. Kirito says that it couldn't be helped because he was a guy. When Leafa askes about herself, Yui says that she was okay, surprising Leafa. Kirito says that it was because he didn't see her as a girl (-.-")and flies up

I don't know why, but when I see this picture, I think, "LIKE A BOSS".

Meanwhile, in the bird cage, Asuna, inputs the code she memorized before and opens the gate. She walks out and leaves.

Well, I think that this was another good episode.
In the end, when Asuna finally walked out of the gates, I felt like she could actually escape by herself and join up with Kirito and Leafa later. (I really like those kinds of stories with strong female heroines :3)
And again, I am amazed how Kirito/Kazuto is so freaking badass and awesome.

Here's another picture from Deviantart.com drawn by GreenTeaNeko:
Sakuya is on the girl on the left, Leafa is in the center,
and Alicia Rue is on the right .
I should mention that Cait Siths have ears and tails)

And this picture is kind of like Asuna's reaction to the leaders flirting with Kirito XD (by hallow1791 on Deviantart)

That's all I have really for now. I will try to finish up my reviews soon!!!
Bye! :D

SAO Ep. 19 "The Lugru Corrider" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Hello! ^^ This post is the review for episode 19 of SAO, "The Lugru Corrider".

In the caves of Lugru, Leafa is telling Kirito about the different races' spells (like how Spriggans are good at illusions and finding treasures and stuff). Yui notices twelve approaching players and Leafa hides the three of them with magic along a wall. Then, Kirito notices the red bat that was following them, and Leafa tells them to run, because the bat was the tracer animal for Salamanders (in other words, they were being followed by 12 Salamanders).
Just before entering the city of Lugru, surrounded by a lake, a huge stone wall appears before Kirito and Leafa, blocking their path. A group of Salamanders blocks the cave entrance that they came from, and the two decide to stay and fight. After seeing the many organized numbers of the Salamanders, Leafa suggests that they surrender, to which Kirito says that he would not let any of his party members die as long as he was alive (his attitude comes from the two years in SAO). Leafa uses magic to support Kirito in the back while Kirito charges forth, but after mulitple failed attempts to break through the Salamanders' shield formation, Yui goes to Leafa and tells her to put a defensive spell on Kirito. Able to use magic, Kirito changes into a huge creature (really looks like The Gleam Eyes, doesn't he? =_=) and takes out all but one Salamander.

"Remember me? >:D"

Kirito "negotiating" :3

After changing back, Kirito negotiates/bribes the remaining Salamander, and he tells them about how a force of Salamanders were heading north.
Leafa receives a message from Recon, and later logs out to ask him about it in real life. Nagata tells her that Sigurd was planning to take down their Sylph leader with the Salamanders.
Leafa asks Kirito to help her save the Sylph leader, and after agreeing, Kirito uses his fast speed to run out of the cave.

Man, I just love Sword Art Online so much -.-
In this episode, I especially liked the part when Kirito transforms into The Gleam Eyes, kills everyone, and then bribes the guy he spares. OwO
I also like how Kirito just continues to amaze Leafa, all the time ._.

Here's some fanart (not drawn by me. I found it on Deviantart.com. The person who drew it is called GreenTeaNeko. I love her work! ^^)

I'm pretty sure this is from the last episode when Leafa and Kirito were disconnecting.

Haha! >.< This one is from this episode when Kirito changed into the Gleam Eyes.

Yesterday, I was watching gigguk's Sword Art Online review, and he is hilarious. :D
He's so funny and he does reviews way, way better than I do. >.<
I'll make a post about him some other time, and I also plan to post his SAO review after I finish mine.

That's all I have for now. ^^
Bye! Remember to watch SAO!!!!

SAO Ep. 18 "To the World Tree" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Hi! Right now, I'll be reviewing Sword Art Online's episode 18, "To the World Tree".

Oh, and also, as a warning, this episode has some Sugu-fanservice :P

So, in the last episode, we find that Leafa is actually Suguha, Kirito's sister or, more accurately, his cousin (*squeal*).
Suguha logs out and starts to remember why she joined ALO. The next day, she goes to school and meets her friend Nagata Shinichi, whose avatar is Recon. Nagata questions her about what she would do from then on, to which Suguha answers that she would help Kirito (who she doesn't know is really her brother/cousin) go to the city of Aarun, under the World Tree.
Nagata Shinichi (left) and Recon (right)

She goes home and logs onto ALfheim Online, meeting Kirito in the game world. They go shopping for new items, and Kirito gets new clothes and a huge sword (no weird jokes, please) that is as tall as he is. When they head to the Tower of Wind (it is easier to start flying from high altitudes when traveling long distances), Leafa and Kirito encounter Sigurd, another Sylph player who is the leader of the party Leafa is currently in. Sigurd tells Leafa not to go (because she's a good player),and the two argue, when Kirito intervenes. He said that Leafa was not an item and could do whatever she wanted, angering Sigurd. Just before Sigurd attacks Kirito, one of his comrades said that he shouldn't attack a defenseless player in front of tons of witnesses (it would ruin their reputation), and so he stops.

Sorry, you can't really see Sigurd's face, can you. :\
I promise you that I'll get a picture of him some other time.
Also, do you see all of that green? God, there's so much.

On the balcony of the tower, Recon manages to catch up to Kirito and Leafa before they leave. He tells Leafa that as much as he wanted to leave with them, he was still suspicious of something and wanted to check it out first. The two leave and fly off toward Aarun.

Gawd, Asuna looks pissed (and she has every right to be)
I just want to kill Sugou really bad right now. Or see him die.

At Asuna's cage, Oberon shares that he has told Kazuto of their marriage. Asuna then  tells herself that at least Kazuto/Kirito was still alive. As Oberon leaves the cage, Asuna faces a mirror, and manages to see him punch in the number code of the cage's lock. Asuna starts to memorize the code.
Leafa and Kirito are in the middle of a forest. They finish fighting a couple of monsters, and decide to stop and take a rest, as their wings were also losing power. Leafa disconnects from the game first. In the real life, Suguha makes Kazuto a sandwich and takes a bath. Then, Suguha logs in and Kirito disconnects, switching places. While Kirito is disconnected, Leafa and Yui talk (If I remember correctly (I watched this episode a while back), Leafa asks Yui why she calls Kirito "Papa". Yui answers that "Papa is Papa", confusing Leafa and thinking that Kirito was possible perverted/strange ^^)
Kirito joins the game again, and senses someone watching them. He asks Leafa about it, and she explains what Tracer magic allowed players to watch others using an animal. The two fly off again, and a red bat is seen watching them. A group of Salamanders start to move on the ground (dun. dun..... DUUUNNNNNNN!!!!!)

I guess you could say that I enjoyed this episode too (although there was lots of fanservice -.-").
I keep wondering when Suguha will find out that Kirito is actually Kazuto urge her not to fall in love with him, but it's not like she can here me anyways. Plus, that's what makes this anime good too.
When Asuna starts to memorize the code number, I actually felt that she would get to go outside and save herself (I like those kind of stories where the trapped heroine saves herself and stuff :P). I thought, "Yes!!! YESSS!!!! You go girl!!! >v<"
Let's just wait and see what happens ;)
And I still hate Sugou, even more now. He's just such a hatable character. Just seeing him makes me want
him to die (I sound so mean)

Anyways. -.-
Here's a picture from the last SAO Season that I wanted to share :D (It's fan-made; it didn't actually happen....maybe...)

Poor Lizbeth. She misunderstood. -v-

Well, that's all I have for now, you guys >w<
Join me next time though, and be sure to watch the Sword Art Online anime adaption!!!! :D
Byyyeeeee!!!!

SAO Ep. 17 "Captive Queen" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*
Hi! Now, I'll be reviewing Episode 17 of the Sword Art Online Anime Adaption, "Captive Queen" ^.^

So, in the last episode, Kirito showed off his awesome strength and speed by killing a Salamander. He kills another one, and asks the last Salamander, Kagemune, if he would like to fight. He refuses, saying that he didn't want to face the death penalty, as well as Leafa, when she is asked.
Leafa then asks what she should do now, whether to fight or thank him, to which Kirito jokingly replies that he sees himself as the hero who saved the princess, and that she should be running into his arms. This angers Yui, causing herself to show herself to Leafa, saying that only Mommy (Asuna) could hug Kirito.
Leafa asks what a Spriggan like Kirito was doing in a forest of Sylph territory, and he says that he got lost. Kirito says that he needed to get to the World Tree, and Leafa volunteers to help him. Leafa teaches Kirito how to fly without the use of a controller (which Kirito used previously) and they head to Sylvain. (Earlier, Leafa said that they should go to a neutral area, but Kirito opposes the idea saying that Sylvain was closer. She warns him that in Sylph territory, like Sylvain, other Sylphs could attack him, but he could not attack back.)

Leafa and Kirito arrive at Sylvain

When they arrive, Kirito hits a tower's wall because they doesn't know how to land. Leafa heals him, and shortly after, Recon arrives. Upon seeing a Spriggan like Kirito, Recon gets ready to attack, but Leafa stops him saying that Kirito saved her. She then takes Kirito to an inn.
As they eat, Kirito asks whether Recon was Leafa's boyfriend, to which she says that he was only a party member and a real-life classmate. Leafa then tells Kirito about the grand ALO quest of reaching the top of the World Tree. Players would need to go through a dome guarded by powerful NPCs. The first race that reaches the castle on the top would be rewarded with unlimited flying and be reborn as Alfs (This explains why the races are so hostile to each other and why they don't work together...wait. I think I kind of spoiled a bit... sorry -.-;) She tells him not to give up, even if it takes years, and Kirito replies that he is looking for someone and needed to reach the top very soon. After agreeing to meet up at 3pm the next day, Leafa logs out and tells Kirito to log out in a room upstairs.

Suguha wearing the Amusphere. It's like the improved version of the Nerve Gear.

SUGUHA (Leafa) wakes up in her room and blushes after remembering meeting Kirito.

Yui and Kirito sleep.

Yui returns to her real form and asks if she could sleep with Kirito until he logged out (he agrees).

Asuna (left) and King Oberon/Sugou Nobuyuki (right)

Asuna sits in a chair in the golden cage when King Oberon (Sugou Nobuyuki) comes to visit her. He tells her that he is secretly performing experiments that altered human emotion, sense, and memory. She says that he would never get away with it, and he leaves after locking the cage with a number combination. Asuna cries for Kirito to come save her.

Yay! :D
So, this time, we get a better sense of the characters and the situation.
We get to see Leafa, who we find actually Suguha in this episode, and we get to see Asuna as an elf!!! :3
We also learn that Sugou Nobuyuki is the King Oberon and of his cruel plan.
But, to really sum up this season so far, Kazuto joins the game ALfheim Online as Spriggan Kirito, gets help from AI/Navigational Pixie/Daughter Yui and Sylph player Leafa/Suguha, and is now trying to reach the top of the World Tree to save Asuna, who is imprisoned in the game by evil, cruel, sadistic, most-hated-character-in-SAO Sugou Nobuyuki, her fiance.

Again, this is another great episode. And please, please, please watch the Sword Art Online anime or read the SAO light novel!!!! >w< It's really great!!! You won't regret it! :D

I hope you will join me next time on my review of Episdoe 18! Bye! :)

SAO Ep. 16 "The Land of the Fairies" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Hello and welcome to my review of episode 16, "The Land of the Fairies" of SAO!

When I first saw this, I thought that his job actually really suits him ^^

In the last episode, Kazuto recieved an email sent by Agil with a picture of a girl who looked like Asuna in a golden cage. Kazuto goes to Agil's Dicey Cafe and questions him about the picture. Agil says that the picture was taken in a game called ALfheim Online, another full dive game, which means the "land of faeries". The game encourages Player Killing, focuses on the players' actual athletic ability and skill (so, no levels), and is popular because of the ability to fly. He further explains that the picture was taken at a place called the World Tree. The players of ALfheim Online are divided into 9 races, all who aim to reach the top of the World Tree first, meet the Fairy King Oberon, and gain unlimited flight. A few players tried to reach the top by lining up and flying up and failed, but they took pictures, one of which was of Asuna in the cage.
Kazuto thanks Agil for the information and takes the game, determined to reach the top of the tree to save Asuna. Once he gets home, he uses the Nerve Gear and plays ALfheim Online. He enters his username as "Kirito" and chooses his race as a Spriggan (because Spriggans wear black). He is then transported to the Spriggan home town, but due to a malfunction, he ends up in middair in the middle of a forest, once he reaches the ground, he checks for the log out button. He then finds that all his old SAO information, including money, items, and skills (like One-Handed Sword, Dual Blades, fishing, etc.) had been transferred into his new account. Kirito then checks his items, and finds that Yui's Heart is still there. He clicks the item, and Yui appears, and the two hug after being reunited :3

*sob, sob* TTvTT What a touching family reunion :'D

Kirito asks Yui why his SAO information had been transferred over, and she replies that it was because ALfheim Online's server was a copy of the old Sword Art Online one. She then recommends Kirito to delete his items before someone catches him and turns into a Navigational Pixie. Then, Yui teaches Kirito how to fly, saying that flight would only be allowed for a certain period of time. They go towards the nearest town, when Yui senses other players nearby.

Aww, just look at Yui. >w< She's so cute!!!

Two Sylph players, Leafa and Recon, are attacked by a group of Salmanders, and try to escape to Sylph territory. After some time, Recon is killed (remember, in ALfheim, players can regenerate) and Leafa is hit by a cannon and falls  to the ground.

Say hello to Leafa, you guys!!! :D (I'll show Recon some other time :P)
My, she looks so very familiar, don't you think? (*Note: I said that in a sarcastic tone :3)

In the forest, the three Salamanders tell Leafa to hand over her money and items in exchange for her life, to which she refuses. Then, Kirito appears. He provokes the Salamanders and after stopping a sword with one hand, he receives permission from Leafa to kill them. He uses his one-handed sword and quick speed to kill the Salamander.

OMGOMGOMG!!!! Kirito's so BADASS!!!! >.<

OMGOMGOMGOMG!!!! ASKDJFALSKDFJAKSDJFLKAJD

Anyways, that was Episode 16 ^.^
I really love this episode for many reasons
1) Yui's back!!!! :D Oh my gosh, I just love Yui! >.<
2) We get to meet Leafa. Who looks really familiar, don't ya think???? :P (*Note: Again, I said that in a sarcastic tone)
3) Kirito's back!!!! In ALO (by the way, that stands for ALfheim Online)
After a single episode, Kirito returns!!!! = w =
And he returns really badass-ly too! :D

Anyways, I hoped you like this and I also hope that you'll watch SAO.
I'll be making another review soon! :D
Here's Season 2's ending song, "Overfly", sung by Haruna Luna. Enjoy and Bye!

SAO Ep. 15 "Return" Review

*Warning: This post contains SPOILERS. If you do not want to be spoiled, DO NOT READ THIS POST
....I warned you... O.O*

Yay! Welcome to the review of episode 15 "Return" of the Sword Art Online Anime!
As I said last time, this is the first episode of Season 2! >.<
That means new character, new plot, and new opening/ending songs!!! :D (....I already said that last time, didn't I?)

This episode begins with Kirito/Kazuto waking up from a nightmare of being on the 22nd floor of Aincrad, when everything, including Asuna, starts to disappear from him.
We go to the next scene, where Suguha, Kirito's little sister, practicies kendo with her shinai (bamboo stick). Not knowing that he was watching, Kazuto surprises her, and hands her a water bottle. He lifts the shinai, stating that it was light. Suguha is surprised, saying that the shinai was considered one of the heavier ones because of the materials it was made of (Of course, Kazuto is comparing it to the Elucidator/Dark Repulser from inside SAO, but Suguha doens't know that). Then, Kazuto challenges Suguha to a kendo battle.
Once they put on their armor in the dojo, Suguha laughs at Kazuto's stance, saying that it was strange. They begin, and eventually Suguha wins.

The siblings spar...I can't really tell which is which, but I think that
Suguha is on the right and Kazuto is on the left based on how they're holding the shinai.

Kazuto then says that Heathcliff would never stand a chance against Suguha and swings and sheathes the shinai as if it was the Elucidator, confusing and worrying Suguha.
They go outside, and Kazuto says that he might pick up kendo again. Suguha is extremely happy and when she asks what he would do that day, he answers that he would visit Asuna.
Kazuto rides his bike to a hospital, narrating that 2 months have passed since he beat SAO. He traded information with the Ministry of Internal Affair's SAO Incident Task Force for Asuna's whereabouts, and learns that 300 players have still not waken up including Asuna, who was located at that hospital.
When he visits her hospital room, he meets Yuuki Shouzou and Sugou Nobuyuki, who seems overjoyed to meet the hero of SAO. Nobuyuki tells Shouzou that he would like to make "it" official and would want Asuna to wear the dress while she was still beautiful, suprising Kazuto.

God, he sickens me.

Once Shouzou leaves the room, Nobuyuki turns into a whole new person, sniffing Asuna's hair and disgusting Kazuto (as well as the viewers). He said that he was going to marry Asuna while she was in a coma and that since he worked in the Full-Dive Technology Research Division of the company currently in charge of the SAO servers, RECTO Progress Inc. (to which Yuuki Shouzou was the CEO of), Kazuto should be thankful to him for keeping her alive. Before leaving, Nobuyuki invites Kazuto to his and Asuna's wedding in a week (I should say that he knows that Kazuto/Kirito and Asuna were lovers).
Later, Kazuto goes home and Suguha enters his room to tell him that the bath was ready. She is surprised to see that he was upset, and even cried, saying that Asuna was going to somewhere he couldn't reach. Suguha then tells him to not give up, and he falls asleep. Suguha then sleeps next to him.
A flashback is played when Suguha and Kirigaya Midori (Suguha's mom) are in Kazuto's hospital room on his birthday. Midori explains that at 10, Kazuto discovered that his real parents had died in an accident and that Suguha and Kazuto were actually cousins, not siblings.

Suguha wakes up.

The next day, Kazuto wakes Suguha up, saying that she would be late for practice. Embarrassed, she runs out of his room. Kazuto then checks his email, finding a picture of a girl who looked like Asuna in a golden cage from Agil.

....Man, I suck at summarizing -.-
Well, how'd you like it? :D
The first episode of Season 2,that is.
Well, I really liked it!
We finally get to meet Suguha, Kazuto's sister cousin. Actually, Suguha appeared in Episode 1 of the anime when she leaves the house to go to kendo practice and also on the News with her mother, Kirigaya Midori. (for some reason, she had greenish hair then. Do you think so too?)

Suguha and Midori in Episode 1

Suguha was also mentioned in Episode 4, when Kirito told Silica that he was willing to help her because she looked like his little sister (Although, I don't really agree with that).

We also get to meet Sugou Nobuyuki, anime's most hated character in history. ARGGGHHH!
I just want him to die!!! He's an absolutely crazy, disgusting, sadistic bastard (can I use that word?)!!!!! RRRAAAAARRRHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Haha, LOL. I saw this picture and just had to put it on here. >.<

*sigh* Anyways, here's another picture I found that's kind of funny.
"....What if Asuna and Kirito/Kazuto's places were swapped?"

Well, just go and watch the anime! :D It's super awesome!!!!
For now, I'll just post the opening of Season 2, "Innocence", sung by Aoi Eir
Enjoy! :D
